Featuring authors Sally Conning and Jax Wake, this is a story about Dinosaurs and Pride and the power of allies to transform the experiences of LGBTIQ community members doing it tough.

Join us for a two-fold event: a live reading of intergenerational pride fairy tale The Roar!!! from the authors – a 12-year-old trans boy and a 69-year-old trans woman, then hear members of the SQUAD (Storytelling Queers Against Discrimination) discuss the ways they supported these authors to tell their story and find a happy ending.

The event will include the launch of an edited animation from the Dinosaur SQUAD story.

Presented by Midsumma Festival, Alice’s Garage, The Ewing Trust and Yarra Libraries. The Dinosaur SQUAD is included as part of the PRISM program in partnership with Midsumma Festival. This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body.
