Latest information on the crane incident on Lennox Street

Life is returning to normal in Richmond following an incident with a large construction crane, which was damaged in high winds on Monday 23 July and posed a serious danger to nearby homes. 

Police and emergency services attended the site, nearby streets were closed, a number of homes were evacuated, and an emergency relief centre was set up at the Richmond Town Hall. 

Latest update, Thursday 26 July, 5.30pm:

All affected residents in Lennox Street and surrounding streets now have access to their homes, and power has been restored. 

Bridge Road is open for business and Lennox Street is now fully reopened to cars and pedestrians.
