Rare Book Week: The Music of War

Monday 02 July 2018 -

As a part of Melbourne's Rare Book Week, popular sheet music from the two World Wars will be discussed and performed.

Presented by the Royal United Services Institute of Victoria, this event will explore a military collection of sheet music recognised as one of national significance.

The talk will be illustrated by examples of the sheet music and some of the songs will be performed, exploring its popular, patriotic and propaganda values. The collection will also be available for viewing.

This event will take place at Cathedral Hall at the Australian Catholic University in Fitzroy on Monday 2 July from 7pm to 8pm. Bookings are required and can be made via the Rare Book Week website.
