Fitzroy Library 

One of Australia's oldest public libraries, Fitzroy Library is nestled beneath Fitzroy Town Hall, accessible via Moor Street. 

Established in 1877, Fitzroy Library has a dedicated local history collection, a comprehensive Aboriginal collection, study areas and meeting spaces, a dedicated children's area with gaming consoles, and collections in English, Chinese and Vietnamese.

Fitzroy Library is graciously funded by the Thomas, Samuel and George Ewing Trust.

When is Fitzroy Library open?

Effective Monday 21 September

Fitzroy Library is open 10am-4pm Monday-Friday and 10am-12pm Saturday for members to collect their holds.
