For Kids

All early literacy programs and Yarra STEAM Labs have returned, but require bookings to attend sessions. See below for links to our Eventbrite listings to register.

Yarra Libraries supports early literacy development through the delivery of preschool programs including Storytime, Babytime and Rhymetime. These programs are held weekly during school term. We also help to foster a love of learning with regular after-school programs, covering STEM subjects, arts and creativity, and run a separate program of events during school holidays.

When our libraries are closed, you can access videos of our storytellers and librarians reading some of their favourite books and singing familiar songs, as well as online resources that can help your children maintain literacy and a love of reading and learning while at home.

Online School Holiday Program

Our September School Holiday program is here - join us online for a range of programs exploring creativity and storytelling!

Anna Zobel will help you discover you own unique drawing style (even if you think you can't draw) in an Illustration Workshop, learn how to create your own comic book with illustrator Steve Lo Casto and discover Wurundjeri Dreaming stories and identity. Join in the musical fun at our Mini Maestros sessions and don't miss our special author events!
