Come Adrift by Alexandra Anderson

Friday 08 February 2019 - Friday 26 April 2019

Alexandra Anderson, Amanda and Ruby, from Come Adrift.

Alexandra Anderson is a photographer and storyteller. Her exhibition, Come Adrift, is a series of portraits of women shown in trilogies, accompanied by stories told by the women of a time in their life when they felt lost, and how they came to find themselves.

The portraits show the women laughing and smiling. They are a testament to each woman's strength and endurance. In a world of growing pretense and inauthentic social media, these stories provide an antidote of truth and shared humanity, bravely exposing times of vulnerability; the photos a celebration of not merely overcoming adversity but of thriving.

Alexandra's wish for this exhibition is that other women may read these stories and connect with them, realising with hope that they are not alone.

All the stories collated so far can be viewed at comeadrift.com and found on instagram @comeadrift

This free exhibition is on display until 26 April and can be viewed during library hours.
