Talking (about) Books

Wednesday 28 July 2021 - Wednesday 29 September 2021

Love talking about books? So do we! Join us once a month to discuss what we’ve read, what we’re reading and what we’d like to read. Think of a few books you’ve loved that fit the discussion theme and come prepared to share with your fellow reading enthusiasts.

These sessions will take place online and a link to the Zoom meeting for the discussion will be provided to registered attendees in the lead up to the event.

Wednesday July 28, 12pm
Theme: unforgettable characters
Tell us about someone you met in the pages of a book and couldn't forget - a character in a novel maybe, or a portrayal of a real person in a biography or other non-fiction.

Wednesday August 25, 12-1pm

Theme: science week!

In honour of science week, let's experiment with all things scientific - ecology, biology, chemistry, the lot! Have you read a novel with a scientific bent? What about a wonderful work of popular science?

Wednesday September 29, 12-1pm
Theme: books we pretend we've read
It's time to get honest and confess to those books that 'everyone' has read but we haven't. Is there a particular book that you started and just didn't love? Or a title you just never get round to reading?

Unfamiliar with the theme? Come along anyway to find out about new-to-you books and authors. Warning: your to-be-read list will grow!

Bookings Required. For ages 17+. Email contact will be made prior to event start with event details. If you have accessibility questions or requirements, please contact us at [email protected] or on 1300 695 427.
