The Ewing Trust Writers Prize Seniors Edition - Winners Announced!

Monday 21 December 2020

The Ewing Trust and Yarra Libraries are proud to announce the winners of the Ewing Trust Writers' Prize – Seniors edition!

Open to unpublished writers 60 years and over with a connection to Fitzroy through living, working, learning or writing, the judges have awarded the $500 prize in the English category to Chris Papachristos for his piece Fitzroy Blues.

The judges of the prize admired Chris’s elegant writing and strong sense of time and place.

The winner of the $500 prize in the Chinese category was Diana Fei Ming Tang for her piece An Unforgettable Experience.

The judges of the prize liked Diana’s relaxed, conversational writing style.

Thank you to all the writers to submitted their work for this competition; we received many entries and the standard of writing was very high, reminding us why Fitzroy is indeed the centre of all things literary (and just a stone's throw from the City of Literature, Melbourne). In January, a new writers' prize for poetry will be announced - keep an eye out for updates in our eNewsletter and website homepage.
