Volunteer with the Yarra Libraries Outreach Team
Monday 12 July 2021
Do you have a passion for social impact and want to make a difference to people’s lives? Have fun supporting your community, developing new skills, and meeting great people volunteering with the Yarra Libraries Outreach Team.
Yarra City Council prides itself on ensuring our programs and services are accessible and inclusive to the wider community and our libraries actively provide outreach services and programs supporting the community to learn, discover, imagine and engage. We are seeking expressions of interests for volunteers who will assist Yarra Libraries staff and add value to the delivery of community programs across the City of Yarra.
Potential volunteer activities will include:
- delivering library materials to socially isolated residents with our Home Library Service
- being part of a team that distributes fresh produce to vulnerable communities
- providing computer and digital device assistance, helping us bridge the digital divide
- championing our library service at community festivals and events
You will be working with a dynamic team of library staff, volunteers and partner groups with opportunities to gain new skills and have lots of fun. The volunteer program offers a variety of time commitments from weekly to-once-a-month opportunities. Yarra Libraries will provide training and support with you volunteering alongside our team.
What's more, volunteering can have a variety of positive benefits on a personal and community-wide level. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to grow your skills and networks while making a positive impact.
Applicants will need to be able to commit to a minimum of six months service. Apply online at yarracity.vic.gov.au/volunteer
